Last weekend, we had the privilege of attending an incredible event hosted at Bayway Cadillac Southwest in collaboration with our friends from Cadillacs & Coffee Houston . The atmosphere was electric — families, car enthusiasts, and community members all came together with one shared passion: beautiful cars and meaningful connections.

At Spot58, our mission is to reduce driver stress and anxiety one vehicle at a time. Being part of an event like this gave us the chance to showcase not only what we do best — polishing, ceramic coating, and detailing — but also why we do it. We believe cars are more than just a way to get from point A to point B. They carry our loved ones, represent our hard work, and deserve to be cared for.

During the event, we connected with new faces, shared insights about vehicle care, and had the opportunity to collaborate with leaders like the General Manager at Bayway Cadillac , and the sales team, who welcomed us warmly. Their openness to partnership makes us excited about the possibilities of future collaborations.

We're thrilled to announce an open call for artists and models for our Summer Sketch Bikini Wash , a one-of-a-kind outdoor figure drawing and community car wash event celebrating creativity, body positivity, and summer heat!

We’re looking for a small crew of talented, open-minded artists and models to join us for a unique life-drawing session during Spot58's next sizzling Bikini Wash. Think figure drawing meets block party, with real people, dynamic figures, and good vibes.

What to expect:

Live models in swimwear during a public car wash
Diverse bodies, bold style, and plenty of sun
Artists will be provided with a shaded and cool station to work
Models will be provided with an air conditioned indoor area to prep and take breaks. Paid gig + tips (exact rate discussed upon selection)
Limited spots available: apply using the form below! (Free to apply and attend)

Artists of all backgrounds and styles are encouraged to apply. Must be respectful, body-positive, and cool with being in a lively, public space. Live sketching experience is great, but not required. 18+ only.

Models of all backgrounds, ethnicities, genders, and sizes are welcome to apply. The Summer Sketch Bikini Wash will entail three hours of light exterior car washing and modeling in swimwear with a team of other models. Spot58 will provide training before the event. Must be respectful, body-positive, and cool with being sketched and photographed in a lively, public space. Modeling and car washing experience is great, but not required. Should be confident, fun, and reliable! 18+ only.

Detailing a Kenworth W900L

There are so many good reasons to communicate with site visitors. Tell them about sales and new products or update them with tips and information.

We got called out to by Alpine Site Services for an out of the ordinary job. We drove from our Houston Downtown to their Magnolia office to clean a Kenworth W900L that had been parked for over a year. This truck needed a very good cleaning inside and out. We showed up with three people for this job and worked on it for a little over five hours.

Cleaning the interior

Of course as always, we started by removing all of the trash and removing the plastic mats. We vacuumed all of the dust and gave the center console a good wipe down and clean. We spent a significant amount of time cleaning inside the studio sleeper. The curtains had caked black dust - we found this same black stains on the leather of the studio. The truck's plastic interior had been worn out so we restored it with shineit spray. We also gave the fridge and microwave a good cleaning. The separate storage compartment was very dusty and dirty we we removed those mats and gave it a good scrub and vacuum.

Cleaning the exterior

We pressure washed the exterior and scrubbed it with the wand extended brush. We cleaned the rims and tires, and had towel dried the exterior.

This was an out of the ordinary job for us, but we were very pleased to see that our customer was pleased with the job and mentioned the value of the truck had increased by $10,000!

At Spot 58, we are proud of our heritage and are happy to recognize September 15th, 2022 as the first day of Hispanic Heritage Month.

We don’t have to go very far to appreciate our cultural heritage here in Near Northside Houston as historically, this neighborhood is plentiful with people from all over Latin America and the influence can be seen by the businesses we have surrounding us Near Hogan and Fulton street. Fiesta Mart, La Casa Bakery Cafe, Refresqueria Tampico, Taconazo, Taqueria Abasolo 1 & 2, and El Novillo are just some of our favorite long standing community landmarks near Spot 58 Hand Car Wash & Detailing.

Supporting local businesses is of sincere importance for us. We genuinely love our neighborhood and happily do what we can to help see these businesses thrive. On any given day you can see us with our little stroller wagon visiting these businesses with our two boys on board!

We will be opening our brick and mortar car wash very soon and once we do, please feel free to stop by for a selfie against our mural with our depiction of the Aztec calendar next to the Aztec. The Aztec may or may not have been inspired by one of the owners, Joel. You can come see for yourself and let us know if you see any resemblance.
